He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Check and Lillian Check (Glodowski); and his sisters, Dolores Engum, Charlotte Gollon and Marie Galecki.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Butkus; his children, Duane Check (Deborah) of Reedsburg, WI., Debra Check, Christopher Janisch of Wauwatosa, WI., Pamela Ashbeck (Theodore) of Wisconsin Rapids, Brian Check of Janesville, WI., Julianne Kalpinski (Brian) of Eau Claire, WI. and Rachelle Waterman (Matthew) of Waunakee; and his grandchildren, Lucy, Luke, Joseph, David, Lilly, Francie, Teddy, Abigail, Paige and Marek. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
