She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Gates and Nila Gates (Springer); and her husband Gerald "Jerry" Bombera. She is survived by: her friend Liz Gilkay; her daughters, Kathy Pliska (Ray) and Karen Gibson (Don); her grandchildren, Joel Skarda (Janelle), Heather Slaats (Chris), Julie Barwick (Corey), Brian Pliska (Amanda Wendler) and Kristin Gibson (Clint Jennings); her great grandchildren, Elise, Brenden, Hunter, Colten, Kaitlyn, Allison and Kiley; and her cousin Gay Tuske.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ascension Hospice - Stevens Point and the Ronald McDonald House.
