He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Tim (Therese); his parents, Kathryn Kort (Zehren) and Anthony Kort; his wife Mary Helen Kort (Grover); his children, Tom (Marilee) of Bolingbrook, IL, Sue Koehl (Paul), Sun Prairie, Kay Kort, Weston, Dan (Jill) of Homer, AK and Jerry Jr. (Michelle); his grandchildren, Kimberly Kort, Barbara Rod (Ron), Libby Wilson (James), John Koehl, Anna Koehl, Ben Kort, Tony Kort (Anne), Ian Kort, Laura Thiele, Emily Thiele, Jared Kort, Kaitlyn Kort and Lydia Kort; and his great grandchildren, Leo and Charlie Rod. He was also cherished by his children and grandchildren have treasured carvings from Grandpa.

In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
