He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Hanson and Phyllis Hanson (Hull); his brother Philip Hanson; his nephew Todd Hanson; his father-in-law Hugh Hampton; and his sister-in-law LaVonne Hampton.

He is survived by: his wife Pam; his siblings, Lee Hanson (Janet), Byron Hanson (Cathy), Dave Hanson (Karen), Peggy Hanson, Amy Boldt (Brad) and Mary Hanson (Nick Marien); his mother-in-law Mary Hampton; his sisters-in-law, Shelly Ninneman (Don), Paula Hampton and Carla Johnson (Joey); his aunt Jane Ann Hull; and his goddaughters, Bridget Hanson and Donna Hampton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many cousins and countless friends.
