He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernie Markgren and Ellen Markgren; and his siblings, Mary Ellen, Stephen and Dave.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Patchin; his children, Kim Fox (Dan), Steph Thorsness (Tom) and Mike Markgren (Tammy); his grandchildren, Brandon Thorsness (Lindsey), Andrea Thorsness (Rashard), Jacob Fox (Jessica), Tara Thorsness (Paul), Geof Fox, Kierstin Fox (Austin), Ashtin Gronning (Jesse) and Tommy Markgren; and his siblings-in-law, Brad and Linda. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Railroad Museum would be greatly appreciated.
