Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Merle leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie J. Carlson and Margaret E. Carlson; his brother Paul Carlson; his nephew Dean Hagen; and his brother-in-law Wayne Hagen.
He is survived by: his wife Rene; his daughters, Adrienne Carlson (Chet Hagen) and Michelle Carlson; his granddaughters, Veda Mosier, Avani Mosier and Aster Hagen; his sisters, Fern Hagen and Jean Galep (Michael); and his brother-in-law Darrell Amberson (Marge). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family.
