He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Paffel and Irma Paffel; his brothers, John and Joe; and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Paffel, Pat Jellen and Jerry Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Jellen; his children, Steve Paffel, Jeff Paffel (Ann), Jennifer Hoecherl (Steve), Joshua Paffel and Benjamin Paffel (Laura); his grandchildren, Adeline, Braedon, Evelyn, Kamryn, Roman, Olivia, Gracelyn, Maxwell and Jayce; his siblings, Richard Paffel, Jeanette Anderson, Maryann Mattson (Doug) and Sandra Lewis; and his siblings-in-law, David Jellen, Diane Moravec, Marianne Paffel and Linda Stevens (Bo). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
