With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ellen Schmitz of Spooner, Wisconsin, who passed away on June 11, 2020 at the age of 77. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ellen Schmitz to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Chappell and Marian Chappell; and her sister Kay Kent. She is survived by: her husband David Schmitz; her children, Gretchen Buxton (Scott) of Bemidji, MN, Ingrid Ney (Corey) of Medina, MN and Ted Schmitz (Laura) of Spooner, WI; her grandchildren, Henry, June, Elizabeth, Liam, Oliver, Samantha, Margaret, David and Phoebe; and her siblings, Glen Chappell (Suzanne) of Redlands, CA and Marcia Lovelady (Phil) of Upland, CA. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Spooner Garden Club.

I think all three of you were babysitters for my kids at one time or another. We are living in White Bear Lake Minnesota and Nick is working for nexen in vadnais heights right next door.
