He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Matter and Ella Matter (Huber); his wife Betty Matter; his in-laws, Donald and Mary Jane Hebert; his grandsons, Zachariah Stargardt and Adam Dodge; and his great grandchild Geoffrey Andrade.
He is survived by: his son Randy Matter; his grandsons, Joshua Stargardt, Logan Olstinski, Anthony Hederer, Bryce Nichols, Jacob Dodge, Travis Matter and Sam Nigon; his children, Suszanne Szydel (Monty), Randal Matter (Dorene), DeAnn Buse (Keith) and Ronda Griepentrog (Jim); and his sister Janet (Leslie).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church (1208 W 14th St, Marshfield, WI 54449). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
