She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John "Jack" Pribnow and Joanne Pribnow (Tennis); her husband Dennis Engevold of Spencer; her sons, Mike Engevold (Kristen) of Spencer and Mark Engevold (Shannon) of Marshfield; her grandchildren, Brittany Slempkes (Ben), Brenton Engevold (Hannah), Blake Engevold, Bristol Engevold, Elizabeth Engevold, Taylor Meyer, Izaiha Meyer and Avrey Goralski; her great grandchildren, Samuel Slempkes and Jaxon Rabine; her siblings, Judy Bedroske (Russ), Jamie Michlig (Bob), John Pribnow (Donna), Tadd Pribnow (Sandy) and Amy Pribnow (Rick Lechner); her birth parents, Jack and Joanne; her stepmother Grace; and her sister Debbie. She was also cherished by 13 brothers and sisters-in-law along with many other relatives and friends.

If desired, the family is accepting memorials in Denise's name for a medical charity to combat cancer which has yet to be determined.
