He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Wentzel and Naomi Wentzel (Kurtzwiel); his wife Patricia Stuttgen; his son-in-law Steven Avila; his siblings, Vivian Mengel (Harry) and Lavern Wentzel; and his brother-in-law Kermit Lang.
He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Avila of Spencer, Gary Wentzel (Colleen), Ken Wentzel (Norma) of Loyal, Karen Tingley (Virgil) of Rib Lake, Kathleen Hendrix (Troy) of Hickman, NE, Lisa Odell (Thom) of Glenwood, IA and Linda Torres (Darius) of Eau Claire; his siblings, Robert Wentzel (Linda) of Madison and Marion Lang of Mission Viejo, CA; and his pet Rusty. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, many other relatives, friends and neighbors.
