He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Wendland and Julia Wendland (Ludeking); his sister Alice Likely; and his granddaughter Mikayla Wendland. He is survived by: his sons, Bruce (Cathy) of Elroy and Dale (Cheryl) of Sparta; his brothers, Ed (Lillian) of Tomah, Ralph (Mary) of Tomah and Irv (Julie) of Tomah; his grandchildren, Jenna Eno (Dani) of Elroy, Shania Wendland of Elroy, Abigail Shanahan (Wyatt) of Ladysmith and Ben Wendland of De Soto; his great grandchildren, Brayden Eno of Elroy, Delilah and Natalie Wilcox of Elroy; and his close friend Linda Richardson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Ev Lutheran Church (419 Jefferson Ave, Sparta, WI 54656). The military honors was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (200 Faith Ave, Sparta, WI 54656).
