He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Olson and Ruth Olson; his siblings, Carl Jr., Marlene Benedict and Diane; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis, Clinton Betts and Wayne Flock.

He is survived by: his wife Dora Pulham; his children, Suzanne Sharp (John) and Richard Jr.; his sister Jackie Flock; and his brother-in-law Dean Benedict. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
