He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Ebert (Meissner) and Bill Ebert; his siblings, Robert, Roger, Arlene Hayes (Ebert) and Annabelle Sharp (Ebert); his siblings-in-law, Mary Ebert, Eleanor Ebert, Lorraine Ebert and Richard Sharp; his son-in-law Gary Heath; and his granddaughters, Courtney, Candace and Charity Heath.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Hughes; his children, Margaret (Margy), Margy Heath, Ron Ebert (Denise) and Mark Ebert (Sherry); his grandchildren, Carrie McLain (Kevin), Cassie Smiskey (Carl), Crystal Johnson (Ryan), Ron Ebert, Jr. (Kandi), Christopher Ebert, Dalton Ebert and Cordell Ebert; his great grandchildren, Marisa Kleven (Josiah), Kayla, Collin McLain, Madeline McLain-Heath, Charlie, Maggy, Garrett Johnson, K'Lynn Friemoth, Aubrey, Josh and Lily Ebert; his brother Harvey Ebert; and his brother-in-law Willard Hayes (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Merlin's memory to United Methodist Church, Sparta Area Cancer Society (SACS), or the Sparta Area Fire District.
