She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Meier and Ethel Meier (Thomas); and her husband Howard Slayton of Leon. She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Nicolai (Frederick) of Glendale Heights, IL and Beth Slayton of Leon; her grandchildren, Adam Nicolai, Morgan Nicolai, Megan Manke (Casie) and Katie Fendt (Jonathan); and her great grandchildren, Xander Howard Nicolai, Max Aiden Nicolai, Blaire Oliver Manke, Brysen Howard Manke, Lucas Robert Fendt, Howard Jonathan Fendt and Gabriel Gilbert Fendt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Deke Slayton Memorial Space and Bicycle Museum, or Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta.
