He was predeceased by: his significant other Heidi Wenzel; his parents, Emille and Hazel (Hool); his brothers-in-law, Heinz Heise and Norbert Schaefer; and his close friends, Jim and Mary Ann Rader.
He is survived by: his daughters, Liz Whitehead (Brian) of Sparta, WI and Pam; his grandchildren, Katie, Megan Whitehead (Ryan Rupp), Nathan, Peyton, Liam, Spencer White and Shelby White; his great grandchild Rae Elizabeth Whitehead; his sister-in-law Gisela Heise; and his nephew Michael Heise (Susi).
Memorials may be made to the Sparta Rotary Club to support the Korean War Memorial, Gundersen Hospice, or Freedom Honor Flight – La Crosse.
