She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugo Schoefer and Elfriede Schoefer (Seidel); her husband Bob Heitzman; and her sister Ingeborg Guenther. She is survived by: her daughter Sylvia Thomas (James) of Petersburg, VA; her grandchildren, Natasha, Marquita, Ricky Jr. and Jennifer; her uncle Alfred Hanel (Anna) of Nuernberg, Germany; and her close friend Ricky Smith (Rebecca). She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Patrick's Catholic Church and SACS.
