She was predeceased by: her husband John Berckman; her parents, Tom Cordner and Esther Cordner; her siblings, Margaret Erickson, Helen Tomlin, Emma Loeffelholz and Richard; and her grandson Brad Lakowske.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Jean, Debbie Lakowske (Calvin), Patty Knutson (Glenn) and John; her brothers, Bobby and Tommy Cordner; her close friend Julie; and her pet Opal. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local animal shelters.
