Douglas D. Schroeder Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas D. Schroeder of Sparta, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schroeder and Lillie Schroeder (Betts); his sisters, Janet Olson and Roxeen Woodard; and his parents-in-law, John and Elizabeth Schaitel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Schroeder (Schaitel) of Sparta; his daughters, Marybeth Schroeder of La Crosse, WI, Julie Millis (Todd) of Sparta, WI and Sue Trautsch (Tom) of Sauk City, WI; his grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Tyler, Ashley, Mason, Zach, Max, Alex, Rilee and Julia; and his great grandchildren, Everly, Bri, Cal and Avery.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation (106 W Franklin St, Sparta, WI 54656). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (118 S K St, Sparta, WI 54656). The military honors was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Patrick&rsquo!s Catholic Cemetery (17553 Ideal Rd, Sparta, WI 54656).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
