He is survived by: his significant other Sharen Rasmussen; his children, Michelle Thomson (Mark) and David Johnstad (Alyssa); his grandchildren, Jayce, Brayden, Lydia and Riggs; and his siblings, Dianna Kinnee, Sandy Will (Jerry), Carolyn Levine (Randy), Thomas Johnstad (Darlene), Wayne Johnstad (Sharon) and Scott Johnstad (Sharon). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
