She was predeceased by: her parent Urban Rowan of South Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by: her parent Harriet Rowan of South Milwaukee, WI; her husband Brian Swanson; her daughters, Melinda Rowan Swanson of Somerville, MA and Alice Rowan Swanson; and her sisters, Jane Fulton (Dorman) of Minneapolis, Bonnie Rowan (Douglas Norwood) of Washington and MaryPat Rowan of Washington. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, grand nephews, and grand nieces.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's honor could be made to the Center for Nonviolent Solutions, 901 Pleasant Street Worcester, MA 01602 or the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center, 145 Bolton Road Harvard, MA 01451.
