She was predeceased by: her husband Peter Emer; her parents, John Neary and Gertrude Neary; and her siblings, Joseph (Helen), Florence (Buddy) and George.

She is survived by: her children, John Emer (Ann) and Timothy Emer (Peggy); her grandchildren, Tracey, Erin (Matt) and Cindy (Brandon); and her great grandchildren, Emily, Chelsea, Zach, Preston, Evelyn and Carly.
