He was predeceased by: his brother Robert Nowak (Dolores); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Stelter (Marni) and Therese Stelter. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann; his daughters, Beth Ann Smith (late Robert), Mary Jo Nowak (Christine Bergan) and Laura Lee Hubatch (Daniel); his grandchildren, Anthony Wellens, Joshua and Danielle Hubatch; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Stelter and Claudia Stelter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
