He is survived by: his spouse Jean; his children, Diane Vande Brake (Brian), Michael Schnepf (Janelle) and Michele Sayer (Cliff); his grandchildren, Eric, Brandon (Stephanie), Tyler (Stephanie), Ashley Vande Brake, Joshua, Zachary Schnepf, Courtney and McKenna Sayer; his great grandchildren, Adalynn and Brett Vande Brake; his brother Donald Schnepf (Arlene); and his pet Kobe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other family and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name appreciated to the Parkinson's Foundation at parkinson.org.
