Charles 'Chuck' Burdette Witte, Jr. age 55, passed away on November 4, 2022, at his residence in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Chuck was the son of Charles and Virginia (Bellis) Witte. He was born on November 17, 1966 in Onawa, Iowa. On December 18, 1966, he was baptized as a child of God at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Biloxi, Mississippi, confirmed on May 3, 1981 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated June 9, 1985 from Martin Lutheran High School in Greendale, Wisconsin. He excelled in sports but his first love was playing soccer.

He enlisted into the United States Air Force in August 1985, trained at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas, served on Holloman AFB, Alamogordo, NM with TDY assignments in Panama and Peru, served on Clark AFB in the Philippines, served on Osan AFB in Seoul, South Korea, served on Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was honorably discharged in September 1990 with a rank of E4.

Commendations: AF Training Ribbon, AF Good Conduct Medal, AF Overseas Service Ribbon-Short, AF Longevity Service Award, Special recognition from the 51st Security Police Squadron while deployed at Osan AFB in Seoul, South Korea.

During Chuck's deployment to Osan he met and married Cassandra Franklin. They were blessed with two children: Kira and Jerod. The couple would later part ways when she was deployed in Italy. While living in Utah Chuck met Lisa Astin. They were blessed with one child: Jakob 'Harley' Astin. While living in Milwaukee Chuck met Karen Yaremkowych. They were planning a life together as they both had the same love for animals especially reptiles and fish. She passed away from a car accident June 27, 2000 before their plans materialized. He loved his kids and grandkids talking about them all the time. He had such a good heart, was so brilliant and his love for animals especially reptiles was amazing and touching. The last several years Chuck was also the caregiver to housemate Karen (DeeDee) Stolpa. Chuck was proud to be a volunteer with the Zoological Society of Milwaukee. The last several years Chuck also enjoyed the monthly Wisconsin Area Killifish Organization meetings and also hosting them.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents Charles and Virginia (Bellis) Witte of Pittsboro, N.C., sister Wendy (Keith) Kaegi of Pittsboro, N.C., sister Crystal (Phillip) Schoenherr of Cibolo, Texas, daughter Kira (Anthony) Morrill of Colorado Springs, Colorado, son Jerod (Chelsea) Plant of Colorado Springs, Colorado, son Jakob (Celine) Astin of Salt Lake City, Utah, two granddaughters Katie and Amelia Morrill, Karen (DeeDee) Stolpa of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his grandparents Roy and Frankie (Mann) Bellis and Burdette and Viola (Skarin) Witte, an uncle Bernard Steward, an uncle Robert Ford and cousin Tracy Ford.
