He was predeceased by: his parents, Erven Maylin and Myrtle Alvina Burkum; and his siblings, Herbert O. Burkum, Ellen Kobs, Arlene and Anita.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Cheryl Burkum; his daughter Jodi Kay; his grandchildren, Luke, Toby, Anderson, Kaydence and Jocelyn; his sister Lola Peterson (Ronnie) of Gays Mills; and his children, Kevin Burkum (Karen) of Park Ridge and Jennifer Davis of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Gays Mills Food Pantry or Luther Memorial Church in Gays Mills would be appreciated by the family.
