She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Sterr and Lydia Sterr; and her son Larry Nickel. She is survived by: her husband Melvin Nickel; her children, Carol Moehr (Dennis), Laurie Janke (Mark), Randy Nickel (Terri), Nancy Wolfe (Barry), Penny Bamke (Mark), Bonnie Scott (John) and Bruce Nickel (Darlene); her brother David Sterr (Sandy); and her sister-in-law Verona Sterr. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, other relatives and friends.
