He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Nelson and Anna Nelson (Birkeland); his wife Donna M. Sherman; and his siblings, Robert, Edward Nelson and Agnes Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Nelson of Madison, Scott Nelson (Dawn) of Suamico and Karen Sporrer (Jim) of Ellison Bay; and his grandchildren, Johnny (Marie), Mollie (Paulie), Stickler (Menasha), Matthew Nelson (Appleton), Kimberly (Scott), Frederiksen (Marinette), Kyle (Chelsea), Hurkmans of Menominee, MI, Nathan and Kiersten Nelson (Suamico). He is also survived by four great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren.
