He was predeceased by: his parents, Hudson Vorous and Marian Van Vorous (Johnson); and his siblings, Gale Van Vorous and Sandra Marine. He is survived by: his sister Bay; his wife Dixie (Warner); his children, Deanna Kunkel (Kevin) of Pickerington and Damon Van Vorous (Diane) of Waukesha, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Tyler, Danielle, Logan, Brooks Kunkel, Brandon and Mackenzie Van Vorous; his goddaughter Sarah Luczak of Rocky Hill, Connecticut; and his brother Gary Van Vorous. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given in Douglas's name for the Northern Door Chapter of St. Vincent de Paul-Stella Maris and Wounded Warriors Casperson Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Sister Bay is assisting the family.
