He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Peterson and Karin Peterson (Wiberg); and his brothers, Richard and Robert. He is survived by: his wife Susan Peterson (Gilson); his daughters, Eve Peterson Mueller (Ed), Beth Peterson and Sara Peterson Stanislaus (Steve) of Jalisco, Mexico.; his grandchildren, Christopher Mueller (Lisa), Eli Mueller (Maggie McGovern), Nicholas Krueger (Maria), Alexander, Elina, Maia Krueger (Dillon Olson), Peter Stanislaus (Alexis) and Emily Swartout (Cristina Guttierez); his great grandchildren, Bridget, Holly McGovern, Rafael Krueger, Wyatt Swartout and Osborn Stanislaus; and also Frank Kauzlarich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the Door County Land Trust.
