He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Grunke and Iva Grunke Chickering; his stepfather Robert Chickering; his sister Lada Armson; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Armson and Mary Ellen "Nurse" MacDonald.

He is survived by: his significant other Becky; his wife Jane Fullerton (MacDonald) of Portage; his daughters, Kari Bell (Gary) and Stacy; his grandchildren, Adam Peschl (Ada) of Madison, Trevor Bell of Madison, Bailey Reis of Madison and Brett Reis of Madison; his stepson John Fullerton (Vicki) of Fitchburg; his sister Donna Ableman (Bill) of Cambridge; and his daughter Sandy Hurd Grunke. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
