He was predeceased by: his parents, Timothy Sargent and Lula Sargent (Comstock); his brother Charles Sargent; and his brother-in-law Joe Puccio. He is survived by: his spouse Hilma Nelson; his children, Sandra Peart (Steven Morrissey) of Benton, WI, Carla Sargent of Dubuque, IA., Tom Smythe (Deb) of Cuba City, WI, Chuck Smythe (Kelli) of Texas and Jim Smythe of Shullsburg, WI.; his siblings, Tammy Puccio of Dubuque, IA and Tim Sargent (Judy) of Olin, IA; and his sister-in-law Jan Sargent of Maquoketa.
