He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Jim Quam, Barbara Benjamin (Tommy), Sue Pederson (Tim), Mike Quam, Gene Quam (Deb), Patti Feeney (Rich) and Jane Lauterbach (Richard); his grandchildren, Heleyna Kasten (Matt), Joshua Benjamin (Talia), Megan Ziemann (Dustin), Stephanie Cowell (Cory), Gene "Bud" Quam, Josh Johnson, Alyssa Steen, Johannah Feeney, Allysha Waggoner (Austin), Richy Feeney, Rich Lauterbach, Ryan Lauterbach, Noah Lauterbach, Ellianna Lauterbach and Grace "Granny" Lauterbach; his great grandchildren, AJ, Taven, Colton, Bennett, Paige, RaeLynn and Keira; and his siblings, Jean Roettelle and Everett Quam (Jeane).
