He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Smith and Betty Smith (Fye); his wife Connie Sue Mortensen; and his sisters, Kathleen Dale and Judy Richardson.
He is survived by: his children, Mechelle Butler-Smith of Ardmore, OK, Janet Garza (Greg) of Spooner, WI, Tanya Gates (Daniel Rieck) of Spooner, WI and Randy Smith (Kristina) of Spooner, WI; his grandchildren, Dakota, Ben, Hailie, Joseph and Ashley; his great grandchild Sophie; and his siblings, Richard Smith (Cathi) of Brill, WI and Pam Abner (Robert) of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
