It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita (Cotone) Queener of Shell Lake, Wisconsin, born in Cumberland, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Rita may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Cotone and Erla Cotone (Martinson); her husband Bob Queener; and her sister Lois. She is survived by: her sisters, Judy Barrows (Valmer) of Hudson, Anne Grignon (Robert) of Olathe, KS and Cathy Gunderson (Don) of Eau Claire. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (900 St Anthony St, Cumberland, WI 54829). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
