He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Thiel and Lillian Thiel (Stange); his wife Patricia Salzwedel; his siblings, Jerome Thiel and Nancy Thiel; and his sister-in-law Susan.
He is survived by: his brother Arno; his children, Vicki Scray (Mitch) of St. James City and Randy Thiel (Felicia) of Howards Grove; his grandchildren, Gavin Scray, Garrett Scray (Shannon), Grant Scray, Myka Hart (Caleb), Megan Bruegge (Brian), Zach Thiel (Aimee), Mariah Dowty (Thomas) and Dominic Geiger (Heather Baeckmann); his siblings, Marilyn Wirtz and Arnold Thiel Jr. of Sheboygan; and also Marvin. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
