He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Engen and Selma Van Engen (Fenner); his wife Beverly Koeser; his sister Sonya Nelson; and his brother-in-law Manfred Reinbacher.
He is survived by: his son Mark Van Engen (Carol Frederick) of Wauwatosa; his grandchildren, Lisa Van Engen, B. J. Van Engen (Mary), Julia Hlatshwayo (Twa) and Jennifer Kohl (Nick); his great grandchildren, Elisabeth, Grant, Evan, Hannah, Memphis, Amelia, Aiden, Kailey and Olwaethu; his great great grandchildren, Liam, Cassie and Addy; his sister Jean Reinbacher of Little Chute; his nephew Gustav Nelson of Le Sueur, MN; and his nieces, Laura Reinbacher of Little Chute and Marj Schmitz (Mark) of Appleton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church in Rodney's name.
