He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Mayer and Mary Mayer (Petesch); his wife Alice Catherine Winkler; his parents-in-law, John and Dorothy Winkler; and his siblings, Fred, John, Joseph, Peter, Louis, Hilary, Richard, Erma Dries, Mary Hanson, Ursula Rettela, Rita Huhn and Theresa Daun.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Mayer (Lori), Tim Mayer (Patty) of Sheboygan, Carleen Widder (Kevin) of Plymouth and Karen Mayer of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Clay Mayer of Charlotte, NC, Ashley Klemme (Alan) of Green Bay, Amanda Mayer of Sheboygan, Dylan Mayer (Lisa) of Sheboygan, Joe Widder (Kayla) of Sheboygan, Jared Widder (Ann Marie) of San Diego, CA, Adam Widder of Milwaukee and Angel Demey (Joe) of Sheboygan; and his great grandchildren, Nora Mayer, Brody Klemme, Lucas, Isaac Widder, Theodore, Leena, Claire, Therese Widder and Elhyme Demey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
