He was predeceased by: his parents, John Abel and Esther Abel; his former wife Lucille Ruefenacht; his wife Lorraine Thiedeman; and his siblings, Lucille Seyfert (Arland), Shirley Reuter (Robert), Ray Abel (Jeanette) and John Abel (Ruth).
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Abel (Valerie), Carolyn Hoefert (Norman), Kathleen Hollingsworth (Jim), Mary Schweitzer (Dick), James Abel (Diane) and Nancy Loehr (Ron); his stepdaughter Bonny Whitman; and his caregiver Milton. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Sheboygan Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness (3328 North Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53083). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
