She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis and Marie; her former husbands, Eugene Theune and Roman Hertel; her spouse Del Hansen; her daughter LuAnn; her brothers, Roland (Betty) and Richard; and her stepsiblings, LaMae Lemkuil, Patricia Zurmond (Pete), Judy "Putter" Bartelt (Chuck) and Rich "Chip" Lemkuil (Lenore).
She is survived by: her son James Hertel (Debbie); her grandson Dylan Hertel; her stepchildren, Vicky Zimmerman (Jim), Lori Schoessow (Scott), Jeff Hansen (Michelle) and Terry Hansen; her stepgrandchildren, Neil Hartman (Rose), Deidra Hartman (John Sukowaty), Skyler Moser (Steve), Robyn Salm (Jordan), Jacob Schoessow (Demi), Patrick Schoessow and Tyler Schoessow; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Jackson Schoessow, Isaac Hartman, Arianna Hartman and Elijah Hartman; and her sister-in-law Karen. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Marilyn's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
