He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Champeau and Carol Champeau (Gandre); his brothers, Richard and Thomas Champeau; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Jean Berkholtz.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Berkholtz; his daughters, Joni Ramos (Jose) and Lisa Jackson (Dustin); his grandchildren, Vanessa, Ethan, Gabriela, Casey and Nico; and his siblings, Cathy Taubenheim (Dan), Michael Champeau, Mark Champeau (Jody) and Joseph Champeau. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in James's name.
