He was predeceased by: his parents, John Colby and Mathilda Peltamaa Colby; his wife Darlene F. Guetschow of Paul's Lutheran Church; and his siblings, Waino, William, Edwin, Elmer, Eileen Zastrow, Ina Jacobson, Hilma Heikkinen, Elaine Hariju and Linda Hendrickson.
He is survived by: his children, Michael J. Colby of Iron River, WI and Christine Meyer (Michael) of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Joshua Meyer (Marianne), Aaron Fortier-Meyer (Alais) and Mindy Leiterman (Brad); his son Jeff (Angie) of Cleveland, WI; his grandchildren, Justin Colby, Jason Colby, Lauren Simonsmier and Adam Colby; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Christian, Zane Colby, Eric, Anton Meyer, Sophia, Amelia Leiterman, Wren, Juniper and Hawthorn Fortier-Meyer; his great great grandchild Oakley DenDekkar; and his niece Lorraine Litz of Sheboygan. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorials may be given in Emil's name to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, The family would like to thank the staff of Lakehouse Sheboygan, Pine Haven Christian Communities, and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice who assisted him and brought him comfort in his difficult years.
