He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kretschmann and Katherine Kretschmann (Smith); his wife Maxi Diedler; his siblings, Jerome Kretschmann and Sandee Perrung; and his parents-in-law, Erwin and Regina Diedler.

He is survived by: his children, Michelle Bibens (Dean Jr.) of Milford, CT, Jeff Kretschmann (Geri) of Sheboygan, Stephen Kretschmann of Collins and Brian Kretschmann (Theresa) of Sheboygan Falls; his brothers, Eugene Kretschmann (Marian) of Florida and John Kretschmann (Gloria) of California; his half-sister Cynthia Brandl of Minnesota; and his siblings-in-law, Barb Kretschmann of Watertown, Gabrielle Spanenberg (Nicholas) of Germany and Gary Perrung of Sheboygan. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
