He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Sass and Viola Sass; his brother Melvin Sass (Joyce); and his brother-in-law Donald Schroeder. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Schroeder; his children, Timothy Sass (Colleen), Lynda Koepsel (David) of Sheboygan Falls and Jeffrey Sass (Debra) of Fredonia; his grandchildren, Lori Kaufman (Brian), Marc Sass (Kendal), Samantha Lambrecht (Lucas) and Rebecca Block (Joe); his great grandchildren, Layton Kaufman and Olivia Sass; and his sisters-in-law, Pat Schroeder of Sheboygan Falls and Lois Voigt (Jim) of Surrey, BC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pine Haven Covenant Home or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
