He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Opgenorth and Vera Opgenorth (Schuchardt); his wife Betty Drews; his children, Linda, Mark and Steven; his parents-in-law, Fred and Flora Drews; his siblings, Vernon Opgenorth, Melvin Opgenorth and Carol Bahr (Chester); and his siblings-in-law, Helen Opgenorth, Jeanette Opgenorth, Anita Opgenorth, Chester Bahr, Harold Filbrandt and Frederick Drews.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Rothe (Brad) of Milwaukee and Terry Opgenorth (Diane) of Mayville; his daughter-in-law Shirley Opgenorth of Green Bay; his sister Marian Filbrandt of South Haven, MI; and his sister-in-law Carol Drews of Sheboygan. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials in Earl's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church (Sheboygan Falls), St. John Lutheran Church (Townsend), Sheboygan County 4-H Alumni Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters WI Shoreline, or charity of choice.
