He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlyn P. Sr. Childs and Carol Childs (Kerr). He is survived by: his wife Lisa Childs (Steenbock) of Shawano; his children, Jamie Jensen (Brian) of Portland, OR, Melissa Childs of Minneapolis, MN and Stephen Childs (Ashley McCole) of Iron Mountain, MI; his stepchildren, Dustin Steenbock of Shawano, Timothy Schider (Amanda) of Fr and Anna Schider of Shawano; his grandchildren, Sibayla Jensen, Makhai Jensen, Eliana Surprise, Lillian Childs, Dominic Childs, Devon Childs, Ariana Childs, James Schider, Summer Schider, Kiley Schider and Ally Schider; his sister Deborah Peterman of Green Bay; and his stepbrother Gerald Raeder (Janice) of Haines City, FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. James Lutheran Church (324 S Andrews St, Shawano, WI 54166). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
