With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ivan D. Berndt of Shawano, Wisconsin, born in Clintonville, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 5, 2024 at the age of 97. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Berndt and Sophie Berndt (Seehafer); his grandchildren, P. J. Thompson and Michelle; his great grandchild Haley Thompson; his siblings, Marilyn Koeller (Melvin), Ordway "Ordie" Berndt (Mae), Patsy Childs (Pat), Henry "Hats" Berndt, Jr. (Nancy), Sally Darland and Sandra Schultz; and his siblings-in-law, Peter Christensen, Richard Dillenburg, Eleanor and Emerson Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Dillenburg; his children, Barbara Soudelier (Joe) and Lynn Thompson (Frank); his grandchildren, Jason Schuette (Sheile), Cassandra Merlock and Frank Thompson, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Nickalaus, Nathanial, Natilia, Melisia, Gavin, Cameron, Christofer, Scarlet, Tyler and Wyatt; his sisters, Judy Schultz (Ken) and Mary Christensen; and his sister-in-law Barbara Dillenburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers donate to the children of Ike's deceased granddaughter, Michelle.
