He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Roelle and Dorthy Roelle. He is survived by: his children, Diana Rassmussen and John L. Roelle; his wife Anne Roelle; his children, Shelley Stricker, Sandy Roelle and Jenny Riley; his brothers, Tom Roelle and Rich Roelle; and his daughter Chris Leonard.
