He was predeceased by: his father William Sr. Boxtel; his brother Jim Van Boxtel; his parents-in-law, Melvin and Angeline Brocker; and his siblings-in-law, Jacob Satterlee (Kathy), Larry Schroeder, Donna Prilepp (Carl), Josephine Bailey (Fred), John Brocker, Barb Brocker, Butch Davis and Mary Brocker.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Van Boxtel (Courtney), Vance Van Boxtel (Christy), Dean Van Boxtel (Shauna Redhail) and Sarah Fish (James); his siblings, Roger Van Boxtel (Carol), Judy Molina (Larry), Nancy Kottke (Jim), Tom Van Boxtel, Sharon Feldkamp (Jim Hatton), Mark Van Boxtel and Carol Ambrosius (Guy Mommaerts); and his siblings-in-law, Arlene Davis, Margaret Schroeder, Carl Brocker (Debbie), Melvin C. Brocker and Jill Brocker. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
