He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Bunkelman and Letta Bunkelman (Herlache); his parents-in-law, Roman and Leona Platten (Truyman); and his siblings-in-law, Don Schmit and Jenny Anschutz.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Platten; his siblings, Karla Krueger (Gary), Sue Heil (Gene) and Kip Bunkelman (Brenda); his siblings-in-law, Judy Schmit and Chris Anschutz; his godmother Lois Murphy; his caregiver Bobbi; and also Terry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
